German-French Strategic Dialogue: Disinformation (GER/FRA)

The deliberate spread of disinformation has dramatically gained importance in recent years and represents a central challenge for democracies around the world. False or misleading information is intentionally used to create uncertainty, amplify societal tensions, and undermine trust in governmental institutions. In the context of international conflicts, such as Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the strategic use of disinformation as a hybrid threat element becomes especially evident. Together with distinguished experts, we will discuss the following questions: How does disinformation influence the global security architecture and power dynamics? What approaches are Germany and France taking in the fight against disinformation? How can democratic states strengthen the resilience of their societies and cooperate across borders?
