 en in modern wars and conflicts is being discussed. Although women are sta
 tistically rarely involved as combatants\, they are often heavily affected
  in armed conflicts. Sexualised violence\, abduction and slavery are also 
 a sad reality in today's conflicts. Violence against women is used as a we
 apon of war - be it in Ukraine\, Israel or in many other conflicts. \nHowe
 ver\, women are by no means always just victims. They often also take on t
 he roles of perpetrators\, accomplices\, activists or negotiators. Women o
 ften play a particularly important role in ending conflicts.
