The Henry Kissinger Professorship for Security and Strategy Studies at the University of Bonn is dedicated to research and teaching of international security issues in terms of strategic studies and their relation to transatlantic relations. Another of the professorship's central tasks is the practice-oriented systematization and further development of security policy research potentials of various disciplines within and outside the University of Bonn. The Henry Kissinger Professorship is at the forefront of the new Center for Advanced Security, Strategic and Integration Studies (CASSIS) at the Faculty of Humanities. The Henry Kissinger Professorship is looking for the following as soon as possible (temporary for a period of six months with the option of extension)
Research Assistant (WHF)
(10h/week)
The position provides substantive and organizational support to the Henry Kissinger Professorship in the development and preparation of national and international research projects and events on key strategic issues in the transatlantic relationship and global power shifts.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support the chair in the implementation of projects and in the writing of academic texts,
- content-related and operational support of the chair in the preparation and follow-up of lectures, workshops, conferences and publications
- in the field of security policy and history, organizational preparation and follow-up of appointments
- topic-related research
Your profile:
- Remaining period of study of at least 6 months in Bonn,
- first-class Bachelor's degree preferably in the field of political science (focus on international relations, transatlantic relations an advantage),
- very good command of written and spoken German and English, further foreign language skills are an advantage
- first experience in science management advantageous,
- experience in political science research with a focus on foreign and security policy with a focus on transatlantic relations advantageous,
- good PC skills (especially Office programs),
- proven ability to work independently and in a goal-oriented manner,
- open-minded personality with strong communication skills, strong team orientation and high social competence
