The WRSS closes a long-standing strategic gap by creating, for the first time, a comprehensive political and strategic basis for a national space security architecture. Germany plans not to act as an isolated player, but rather as a driving force and reference point within Europe. The strategy is backed by substantial financial resources: around €45 billion is to be invested in space-related projects by 2030. This will strengthen both the German and European space industries and industrial resilience.

Dr. Fels describes the strategic areas of action and concrete implementation steps of the German Space Safety and Security Strategy, which he considers to be one of the most ambitious worldwide.
