Research profile

Dr. Rogelio Madrueño focuses on the challenges and threats for global development and global governance with special emphasis on the 'Global South'.
Dr. Madrueño holds a PhD in International Economics and Development (summa cum laude) from the Complutense University of Madrid. He earned his M.A. in Intl. Relations at the Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset, Spain, and his B.A. degree in Economics at the Faculty of Economics, UNAM, Mexico. Dr. Madrueño has been visiting researcher at the Universities of Oxford, Cantabria, Oldenburg, Marburg, Göttingen, Greifswald and the Complutense Institute of Intl. Studies. He is member of the National System of Researchers in Mexico (Conacyt) and has been a board member of the Spanish Network of Development Studies (2020-2023). He is also a reviewer for several scientific journals in the field of development studies.
