100 years of the Locarno Treaties - the dream of peace
In 2025, we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Locarno Treaties, which were intended to create the basis for peace in Europe after the First World War in 1925. Gustav Stresemann and Aristide Briand, who were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1926, established a system that aimed to resolve border conflicts peacefully. But the hoped-for peace was short-lived and the Second World War began in 1939. Today, in the face of new conflicts, the question arises: how can we secure lasting peace and learn from the mistakes of the past?
