Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Future Making

This research project investigates normative, regulatory and power-political dimensions of artificial intelligence (AI) and cyber security from a social science and humanities perspective. The digitalization of the state, organizations and society opens up fundamentally new innovation potentials, but at the same time confronts research and development with sensitive political problems. European trends will be examined and analyzed in comparison to developments and best practices in North America and East Asia. The aim of the project is to develop interdisciplinary perspectives that compare the design and use of digital technologies, social media, and AI applications in order to investigate possible techno-social convergences across different social, cultural, and political contexts, to classify them philosophically, and to comprehend them socio-theoretically, but also to develop recommendations for practical application.
