According to Prof. Dr. Volker Kronenberg, the runoff election for the office of mayor of Bonn will be a neck-and-neck race between the incumbent mayor and Green Party candidate Katja Dörner and her challenger, Guido Déus of the CDU. The positioning of the further parties will be decisive for the outcome of the election. The WDR presenter reminded viewers that 11 parties are represented on Bonn City Council.

Regarding the outcome of the district administrator elections in the Euskirchen district, Prof. Dr. Kronenberg said that the victory of SPD district administrator candidate Markus Ramers was the result of his personal competence in mastering serious crises. From the perspective of his voters, Markus Ramers satisfactorily mastered the flood disaster in July 2021, the Corona pandemic, and the energy crisis that arose after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
