Order without Power? Europe's Strategic Dilemma
March 19, 2026 | 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. | Lecture Hall IX Main Building of the University (Am Hof 1, 53113 Bonn)
In a world where power has clearly become the determining factor in international politics once again, Europe stands at a strategic crossroads. How can deterrence, credibility, and strategic sovereignty be shaped in a fundamentally changed security policy environment? How should NATO, as a transatlantic alliance, deal with changed expectations and realpolitik challenges? How must political decisions, military practice, and scientific analysis work together to position Europe as a credible and effective actor in a multipolar world order?
We want to address these questions together with you in our high-caliber panel discussion. After a brief introduction, our experts will discuss Europe's role in a power-centered world politics and attempt to outline a possible path for Europe to remain a global player in the future. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts.
Registration is required to participate in the event!
