Profile

PD Dr. Antje Nötzold is a research associate at the Chair of International Politics at Chemnitz University of Technology. Antje Nötzold is also Non-Resident Fellow at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) at Johns Hopkins University, Washington DC. She was a participant in the U.S. State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program and a Resident Research Fellow at the AICGS, as well as a long-time member of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's interdisciplinary Young Foreign Policy Makers Working Group and the international Expert Advisory Group "European and South Mediterranean Actors - Partners in Conflict Prevention and Resolution." After studying political science and business administration in Chemnitz and Sydney, Nötzold received her doctorate with a thesis on European and Chinese energy policy and the implications for European energy supply security. Her postdoctoral thesis analyzed the "Decision to Denuclearize. A Process Analysis of Nuclear Disarmament in South Africa and Implications for Non-Proliferation Research and Policy." Nötzold's publications include articles in a variety of journals and edited volumes, as well as in concise formats geared toward policy advice, in addition to monographs and edited volumes. Antje Nötzold was a speaker at numerous professional conferences and renowned international scientific institutions in Germany and abroad.
