New approaches to information security – making Germany more resilient
September 16th, 2025 / 7:00 pm / Federal Ministry of Defence, Visitor Center (Besucherzentrum), Fontainengraben 150, 53123 Bonn
Whether cyberattacks target government institutions, critical infrastructure, businesses, or research facilities, the threat situation in cyberspace is alar-ming and causes immense damage to the economy, administration, science, and society. Against the backdrop of current geopolitical developments, the dangers posed by espionage, sabotage, and disinformation in cyberspace are also steadily increasing. Cyberattacks are key elements of the hybrid threat spectrum. As a state and as a society, we are called upon to confront these dangers consistently and courageously. After all, cybersecurity is a funda-mental prerequisite for successful digitalization. It is a task for the entire state. The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), the federal government's cybersecurity authority, plays a central role in this. What is needed to make cybersecurity more resilient, and what is the BSI's vision in this regard? We would like to explore these questions during the event and discuss them with you.
The GSP, in cooperation with the Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit (FNF) and the Center for Advanced Security, Strategic and Integration Studies (CASSIS) at the University of Bonn, invites you to attend this lecture event.
