China as a Great Power: Actions and Ambitions in World Politics
Today, China is far more than just an economic power. Whether it’s Russia’s war against Ukraine, conflicts in the Middle East, the security of international trade routes, or the future of the United Nations – Beijing’s foreign and security policy decisions are increasingly influencing Germany’s and Europe’s security, economic, and energy policies. In doing so, China combines economic interests, diplomatic initiatives, and strategic partnerships into a foreign policy that is increasingly challenging existing power dynamics.
