The panel discussed the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence (AI) for the future of work. Prof. Dr. Caja Thimm opened the discussion with a presentation in which she recognized that the topic of AI in the workplace causes divided opinions. While for some, AI can take over tedious tasks and make work more effective, for many employees it has a negative impact on job security. Thimm sees a lot of potential for companies through AI, but also a major problem due to a lack of expertise.

Prof. Dr. Caja Thimm, Professor of Media Studies and Intermediality at the University of Bonn, took part in a public panel discussion entitled "The future of work in the age of AI" on July 9, 2025. The event was organized by the Adult Education Centre (VHS) of the district of Gießen, the "Smart Gießener Land" project and other institutions from Hesse.
