The article “Hydrogen - between retreat and awakening” (Wasserstoff - zwischen Rückzug und Aufbruch) in "Wirtschaftsnachrichten Donauraum" focused primarily on the economic potential of hydrogen and its current use in Austria. It highlighted the role of hydrogen as a fuel for carbon-neutral mobility and described the Austrian government's official goal of achieving an electrolysis capacity of one gigawatt by 2030. Alongside this, the article also mentioned the EU's goal of expanding 40 gigawatts of electrolysis capacity by 2030 and producing ten million tons of green hydrogen across the Union. At the same time, with reference to the CASSIS hydrogen report, it was emphasized that the EU's hydrogen targets are currently difficult to meet due to insufficient investment volumes.
