Detailed description of the contentOpening scenarios are currently being discussed, which must be critically evaluated in view of the new virus variants, increasing case numbers and a low vaccination rate among the population. In this situation, the hard-won successes of the past months, achieved through high and prolonged restrictions on social life, could be neutralized within a very short time by openings that lead to an increase in infectious contacts. The already high death rates would rise again. Openings will only be possible responsibly in this situation if the 'R-value' can be kept permanently below 1.
