From a European perspective, the new government is a “mixed bag.” On the one hand, Bulgaria is attractive to companies—such as automotive manufacturers—due to its low corporate tax rates. The country is also important for regulating migration given its location on the EU’s external border. On the other hand, it remains uncertain whether Sofia will support EU aid for Ukraine in the future.
