Prof. Volker Kronenberg explains his views on the formation of the government.

Shortly before Friedrich Merz is sworn in as Federal Chancellor, Prof. Volker Kronenberg explains his views on the formation of the new government.

Volker Kronenberg, Prof. Dr. phil., born in 1971, teaches political science at the Institute for Political Science and Sociology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and as an honorary professor at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. As an exponent of the "Bonn School," which is committed to political science as a practical science, Kronenberg combines research in contemporary history and intellectual history with practice-oriented analysis of contemporary and future political challenges. In his academic-professional work, Kronenberg gave expression to this attitude, among other things, in 2011 as co-founder of the Bonner Akademie für Forschung und Lehre praktischer Politik GmbH (BAPP) and in the same and the following year 2012 as a member of the German Chancellor's expert dialogue on the future of Germany and, since 2019, as one of the founding directors of the Center for Advanced Security, Strategic and Integration Studies (CASSIS) at the University of Bonn, the establishment of which he had significantly promoted during his election as full-time dean of the Faculty of Humanities a year earlier. He regularly comments on and analyzes current political events in numerous media, such as the TV station PHOENIX, WDR, the Tagesschau, the news magazine FOCUS, the Bonner General- and the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger. Kronenberg is, among other things, a member of the board of trustees of the Bonn Institute for Journalism and Constructive Dialogue, the Federal Chancellor Adenauer House Foundation, the Catholic Social Institute (KSI) and the Foundation Senate of the Economy.
