Dr. Sebastian Haug ist Senior Researcher am German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) und forscht seit über zehn Jahren zu multilateralen Organisationen, internationalen Kooperationsbeziehungen und globalen Machtverschiebungen. Er war für die Vereinten Nationen in China und Mexiko tätig und als Gastwissenschaftler am Istanbul Policy Center, am College of Mexico und an der New York University. Sebastian Haug ist leitender Herausgeber der Publikationen „Power shifts in international organisations: China at the United Nations” (Global Policy, 2024) und „The ‘Global South’ in the study of world politics” (Third World Quarterly, 2021). Er berät regelmäßig Regierungsstellen und internationale Organisationen zu Süd-Süd- und Dreieckskooperation und ist Mitglied verschiedener wissenschaftlicher Beiräte. 2025 wurde Sebastian Haug mit dem Nachwuchspreis der Zeitschrift International Affairs ausgezeichnet. Er hat einen Master of Science der Universität Oxford und einen PhD der Universität Cambridge.
